Golf Training with PGA National Golf Academy

PGA National is committed to offering a world-class facility, and we continuously strive to improve. Our coaching operation is a vital part of the overall experience at the resort, and here too, we aim for the highest standards. We are proud to now welcome several new golf coaches to the facility.

Previously, the coaching operation was run by an external partner. Ahead of 2022, we took a new approach. PGA National has brought the operation in-house, collaborating with carefully selected instructors. Early on, we defined a clear goal for PGA National Golf Academy and began discussions with various coaches to identify who wanted to be part of the journey. These discussions led to the following vision:

“PGA National Golf Academy shall be the leading facility in Scandinavia for the development of golfers – Sweden’s National Arena for golf. We will offer expertise in all areas required for players to reach their full potential.”

Marina Bagler, Head of PGA National Golf Academy and one of the golf coaches, explains:

“To me, golf is the most fun and social sport in the world. At PGA National, we strive to create a welcoming, family-oriented environment where we share our love for the game. With the facilities we have, we want to create Sweden’s National Arena for golf. We have the most fun when we play at the level we aspire to, and that’s why we’ve identified key focus areas to help golfers develop their game.”

Every Golfer Is Unique

That’s why every coaching journey begins with a current performance analysis. The goal is always to achieve maximum impact with minimal effort. This analysis is based on our key focus areas:

  • Equipment

  • Technique

  • Sleep

  • Mental game

  • Strategy

  • Nutrition

  • Physical fitness

“We are still in a development phase, with a lot of planning underway, but it’s fantastic to see Julia Kretz (new instructor at the facility) already in full swing. She has filled several ‘Back to Golf’ courses, and there will be many events and courses offered throughout the season—so keep an eye out so you don’t miss anything.

It will also be very exciting to follow Patrick Oderling (also a new instructor) and his specialist expertise in sleep and mental performance. Flow is the ideal state we aim to achieve both on the course and in everyday life.”

All golf coaches at PGA National are PGA of Sweden certified.

Remember – golf training is about so much more than just the swing!
