The banana's second hole has a blind landing area for the long hitter that slopes down towards the green. For those who don't like hanging lies, it might be an advantage to remain on the fairway's flat area before the slope. The green is welcoming, guarded by bunkers on both sides.

The third hole has a fairly generously wide fairway. The right side is the way to go. From here, you'll have a considerably better overview of the green for your second shot. Left means rough and bunkers, as well as a blind shot to the flag. If you absolutely have to miss the green, do it to the right. Left is a nasty area.

The fourth is a banana's most inviting hole, despite being a relatively long par-three. A raised tee box will give you confidence and the green certainly looks inviting. But be aware, it's a very deep green so it can make a world of difference to your club selection.

The fifth offers a range of different strategies. If you're confident in hitting your driver well, aim for the right-hand side, which leaves you with almost just a chip shot. If you instead choose to lay up short in the middle of the fairway, you'll have a comfortable distance with a full wedge or a nine-iron, perhaps even an eight-iron. The green is elevated and may require an extra club. The bunkers on the right-hand side, uphill towards the green, are deceptively closer than they appear from the tee and are definitely in play if you choose the driver. Aim your second shot to the middle of the green, or even slightly to the right. The left-hand side of the green is a no-go.

The second par-3 hole, the sixth, has a very wide green, but may require an extra club. The prevailing wind is directly in your face. But watch out for the bunker to the left behind the green, remember the green is rather shallow.

When you reach the seventh, the real difficulties begin. Usually, you have a long second shot that requires particular precision. Bunkers to the left and a cruelly long run-off area to the right. Definitely one of the three hardest holes on the course. We'll get to the next one soon.

A par-four where you should have a decent drive and an equally decent approach shot on your way to the flag. If you have a short iron left from the fairway, you're often filled with a feeling that the green will kindly receive the ball. It does, no issues.

A real challenge. The ninth hole on the Lakes Course is indeed among the most challenging par-fours on Swedish soil. There's water to the right for all 390 metres to the green. There are bunkers to the left. A stream runs across. And the wind usually comes at you diagonally from the right. The Lakes Course in all its glory. Good luck!

The tenth hole has a very hard-to-find green. But it's also the only one without bunkers. Perhaps some consolation. The stream to the right can cause trouble, and the wind, which can be helpful, usually comes a bit from the left.

The eleventh has many challenging ingredients, with exciting choices. Lay-up to the left or right. You choose. But it’s important to hit the fairway from the tee. The stream on the right ends to the left of the green, so it cuts through the entire hole and can send shivers down the spine of the self-doubting. All in all, it’s a very fine golf hole.

The twelfth is a relatively short par-four. Uphill and then downhill towards a well-bunkered green. The really long hitter will have almost only a chip left if they can get over the rise and roll down towards the green.

The thirteenth more than confirms the name of the course, Lakes Course. The brave player will aim to the right of the large bunkers in the middle of the fairway. At the same time, it’s a risk, the pond undeniably becomes a factor that can mean trouble. But it’s risk and reward; you’ll be richly rewarded if you succeed. The angle into the very tricky green is perfect from the right side of the fairway.

Perhaps the easiest hole at the Banana. A very short par four where the hard hitter can reach the green if they aim slightly left. A birdie here livens things up and serves as a boost before the finishing stretch.

The sixteenth has many challenges. Firstly, the fairway slopes much more to the left than one might think from the tee. If this isn't taken into consideration, you'll end up in the wide ditch. The approach to the deep green often requires a long iron or a hybrid. Most of the time, the wind is directly against you and the wise player will aim to lay up short of the left edge to chip or putt for their third shot. Defensive? Sure, but no one can be safer. Give a thought of gratitude for the birdie on the fourteenth.

The closing stretch has every opportunity to become a classic on the Swedish golf scene. The seventeenth, a signature hole for the Lakes Course, a long par-three all the way over water. Aim for the middle of the green. Or play it short and safe to the right.

The finishing hole. You saw the green to the left, right next to the clubhouse when you arrived at the course, didn't you? Good! Then you know you should aim right when approaching the green. Yes, by the way, you should stay right all the way. To the left of the middle of the fairway could mean trouble, once again it slopes considerably more than you think down towards the annoying water. Many matches will be decided here.
